ABOUT US

The Lucky Ones Ranch is a non-profit animal sanctuary in Vacaville, California.  The Ranch was co-founded by Thao & Vince, a husband / wife duo, along with their awesome team of volunteers.  The Lucky Ones Ranch provides a forever home to animals who have been neglected, abused and/or were no longer wanted.   The Ranch is home to 7 horses, 2 donkeys, 2 llamas, 5 goats, 3 sheep, 14 pot bellied pigs, 11 guinea pigs, 14 dogs, 9 cats, 9 rabbits, 2 tortoises and many feathered friends.

During most of the year, the Ranch provides a special and fun venue for kids and adults to have a unique and up close interaction with the rescued animals. The Ranch hosts tours and has special seasonal events to help pay for the monthly hay bill of $1200.  With over 100 animals to care for and feed, it can get quite expensive!

Oh my dog! Yay! The mass in Henry's neck is most Oh my dog!

Yay! The mass in Henry's neck is most likely an abscess... it's not cancer!! 🙏

A sample will be sent to the lab. And Henry will be on antibiotics for a while.

We're so grateful that he'll be just fine!!
Here's Minnie loving on Henry.. doing the exact sa Here's Minnie loving on Henry.. doing the exact same thing she did at the old Ranch. 💓

Since the fire, our outdoor only cats have been living in an outdoor kennel. They were fostered by the Hawes Family for several months, but now Simon, Mickey and Minnie are living in our new home together! We're just too afraid to lose them, so they'll be indoor cats for a while.

But please say a prayer for Henry. He's got a growth in his neck and we're taking him to the vet to have it checked out today. 🙏
Although we are known for rescuing heelers, when w Although we are known for rescuing heelers, when we saw that then, 15 year old Kovi was languishing in a high kill shelter in Los Angeles... we had to rescue her.

Unbeknownst to us, her name means “holder of the heel”, so in a way she is an honorary Cattle Dog.

If her microchip information is correct, today is her 17th birthday!!We had no idea how long she would stick around after we rescued her, but she’s one tough and spunky senior.

She loves to walk and she loves to eat. Kovi eats raw meat and bones along with a variety of canned dog food. We give her doggy supplements and Ellevet CBD oil for her arthritis. She also enjoys weekly chiropractic treatments to help with her stiff back.

Thank you all for your continued support and canned dog food donations for Kovi. She is one special girl...or as we lovingly call her, ‘Squishy Face’.
Doing my nightly animal count and I realized that Doing my nightly animal count and I realized that "Tripp", the rooster 🐓 that likes to travel to the different animal pens came up missing!

I counted and recounted. I checked all the places he could possibly be. And the entire time, I was walking right by him!! He must have perched on the basket and it overturned and trapped him!

Whew! He's fine and back on his usual nightly perch!
