Freeda
HUSKY
From: Perris, California
Adopted: December 28, 2025
Just when we thought 2025 was winding down, the universe sent one more soul who needed us.
Freeda isnโt a โplug-and-playโ dog. Sheโs the kind most people scroll past โ shy, feral, prefers the outdoors, and doesnโt seek human touch.
Thatโs exactly why she belongs with us.
Earlier this year, Freeda was abandoned and living inside a culvert pipe along a busy freeway in Perris, California. A kind stranger trapped her, had her spayed and vaccinated, and gave her a second chance. In May, Love's Legacy Rescue brought Freeda into their program, where she slowly learned safety while living in a barn with other dogs.
But as those dogs were adopted, Freeda was left alone. A foster tried โ she loved being outdoors โ but without canine companionship, Freeda began escaping. After a dangerous incident involving neighboring chickens and a threat to her life, Freeda had to be returned to rescue for her own safety.
Thatโs when we saw her post.
Before bringing her home, we met Freeda on her terms. Quietly. Patiently. No pressure. And something incredible happened โ Freeda took treats from our handsโฆ and even licked my hand. A moment that took others months to earn.
On Sunday, Freeda arrived at Lucky Ones Ranch โ safe, secure, and surrounded by animals who understand her. Sheโs already showing curiosity, confidence, and even catching the eye of McGarrett. ๐
