Sasha’s journey to Lucky Ones Ranch is nothing short of remarkable. Originally found abandoned and brought to Pima Animal Care Center in Arizona, she was listed as an 18.5-year-old senior—overlooked and forgotten in a shelter housing hundreds of dogs. But one volunteer’s social media post caught our eye, and we knew we had to act.

Vince flew from California to Arizona and made the 887-mile drive back with Sasha by his side. Despite the long road trip, Sasha was a great passenger and remained spirited and sassy the whole way. Once home, a vet confirmed our suspicions—Sasha isn’t 18.5 at all! She’s closer to 10 years old, though her cloudy eye, hearing loss, and chronic sneezing had painted a different picture.

Underneath her matted, fly-attracting coat was a spry little lady ready for a fresh start. After a much-needed grooming session and a bath from the amazing Lindsay at Doggie Designs, Sasha emerged a brand new dog—still feisty, definitely opinionated, and absolutely adored.

Sasha may be deaf, but she communicates loud and clear: she’s here to live life on her terms. From being unwanted to cherished, Sasha now has a forever home at the ranch where she'll live out her golden years with love, comfort, and dignity.
