The loss of Edgar was as large and profound as he was.
We miss our gigantic 100-pound German Shepherd every single day.
When our hearts broke, we made a promise — that in Edgar’s memory, we would open our home to another big dog who needed us.

And today, we kept that promise.

Tofu came to the Pima Animal Care Center from a hoarding case. He was labeled a 110-pound, 15-year-old German Shepherd… but he looks much more like a morbidly obese Belgian Malinois. We’re guessing — and hoping

— he’s closer to 10.

We’re just getting to know him, but we already adore his gentle, sweet nature. There’s something so soft behind those eyes.

Our goal now is simple: help him reach a healthy weight, surround him with safety and structure, and give him the chance to truly thrive.

Edgar, this one’s for you. 🤍
