November Reflections: Heartfelt Memories and Community Connections

We hope this email finds you well and filled with the same compassion and warmth that you bring to our animal sanctuary each month. November has been a month filled with events, challenges, and heartwarming moments, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share them with you.

November 2: Grooming and Pumpkin Harvest

Chowder enjoyed a grooming session at Doggie Designs, which cost $40.

We were invited by Cool Patch Pumpkins to harvest pumpkins from their field, providing our animals with a special treat.

November 6: Remembering Julia

We gave our 5 year old Bronze Breasted Turkey, Julia, her wings to fly over the Rainbow Bridge. She was in pain from her arthritic hips and knees and had difficulty walking. We will miss her chirps and daily talks. It was an honor having Julia in our lives. This endeavor cost $351.

November 8: Sully's Health

Dr. Knott at Loomis Basin Equine rechecked and debrided Sully's skin cancer wound. She was happy at his healing progress. The cost for this procedure was $248.

November 9: Celebrating Thao's Birthday

We celebrated Thao’s 49th Birthday! She was so excited to receive so many wind chimes and lights from her Amazon Wishlist!

November 10: George's Adventure

George, our newest Guinea Fowl flew the coop and hung out with the neighboring wild turkeys.

November 12: George's Return and Bunny Grooming

George safely returned home after his adventurous outing.

Peyton, our dedicated 13-year-old volunteer, lovingly groomed our six bunnies, providing them with nail trims and brushing.

November 14: George's Second Adventure

George flew the coop. AGAIN!

November 16: Spreading Joy through Pet Therapy

Our incredible team of Henry, Mikey, and Holly brought smiles and comfort during a pet therapy visit to Pacifica Senior Living.

November 17: Grooming for Henry and Rosie

Henry and Rosie received grooming at Doggie Designs, with the cost totaling $80.

November 18: Pig Trims and Mural Completion

Our Grass Valley Pigs and J Pigs (Johnny & June) received much-needed trims, with $100 allocated for each pig, totaling $1,000.

Our talented ranch artist, Chris Rosas, completed the Turkey Memorial Mural, a heartfelt tribute. Special thanks to Cierra & Ciana, Mei-ling, Jen, Luana, Amy, and Carole for their generous contributions toward the mural.

November 22: Sully's Continuing Care

Sully had another recheck at Loomis Basin Equine, with the cost amounting to $215.

November 24: Community Outreach

We engaged with the public in front of the Vacaville Grocery Outlet, collecting food donations and pumpkins for our animals. Animals in attendance included Josephine, Baxter, Hutch, Fonzie, Henry, and Holly.

November 25: Holiday Photos

We hosted our first Holiday Photo Fundraiser at Lucky Ones Ranch, capturing festive moments.

November 26: 4 Paws Pet Rescue Photos

4 Paws Pet Rescue joined us with their adoptable dogs to take photos in our holiday-themed set.

November 28: Ensuring Their Well-being

Atkinson Hay delivered 80 bales of teff for $1,326.00, securing our animals' food supply.
